I have a TiVo HD. I love

I have a TiVo HD. I love it. It is ideal if you have cable and antenna (or digital cable). It has inputs for cable and antenna. (It is not intended for use with a satellite.) I use the antenna for HD channels. The I am 3 miles south of Waupaca and the Green Bay HD channels come in great with a 51 element antenna on my roof + quad shielded RG-6 cable. No amplifier is needed. Getting back to the TiVo, once you scan for channels, they are then available and you can flip through the channels seamlessly whether they are from cable or antenna. You can even have an analog channel 2 cable and an analog channel 2 from antenna. When you flip through the channels it gives you the channel number followed by either cbl (cable) or ant (antenna) in the upper right corner. The guide and season pass work with all the channels you have either added by scanning or added manually. Other Pros: Can download movies from Amazon+easy to set up+can record two programs at once while watching a third+storage is expandable by 500GB+Unlike my Sony TV, I can manually add channels that are not picked up by the scan. The list of potential channels is limited by zip code. +Setup was easy when pluged into a network jack. Cons:The cost of the monthly TiVo subscription-It is useless without a subscription-Can't use with satellite.
