Charter aims to add FSN Wisconsin HD to lineup "this summer"
According to an article in Madison.com, Charter Communications is looking to add FSN Wisconsin HD to its lineup, though a launch date is still up in the air and it is not known whether it will be added to Charter systems statewide.
Charter had been hesitant in past to add FSN's high-def feed because the channel goes dark when Brewers and Bucks live broadcasts aren't on the air. However, with FSN Wisconsin's recent announcement of an enhanced 65-game high-def Brewers schedule this season, they supposedly took a second look at the channel. Many of the Brewers' away games will be simulcast in HD this year, as opposed to last year which featured mainly home games.
Charter regional spokesman John Miller says of the channel addition "we feel there will be significant interest in the Brewers this season, coupled with more HDTVs in the marketplace, so they are on the 'to be launched this summer' list." FSN will broadcast the Brewers' season opener this Monday, and will come in HD. Hopefully Charter takes a "sooner rather than later" stance on the channel.
