I'm inclined to believe LIN gave a little on the price they saught, but I'm sure they're getting a good sum nonetheless. Charter's deal isn't "official" yet and LIN hasn't announced it themselves, so I'm sure they're still doing a slight amount of haggling. They just won't lose LIN channels by the end of the month like they might have.

If they were asking 30 cents a month, I'd think they got more in the 18-22 cent range, or something similar if other concessions were made (promotional, etc).

I still dont know if i

I still dont know if i belive the whole contract deal with charter. I thought wluk was a broadcast channel. I know for a fact that when a channel is a broadcast channel and get paid on advertisment they file for a fcc must carry. That means that no matter what a carrier *must carry* that channel on the lowest teir. That is where twc stands with LIN TV at this point. the only question is when are we going to get wluk hd. i would still put $20 on it

******LIN TV***** well there

******LIN TV***** well there is 2 days left b4 i owe someone $20 i do not know who at the moment. but someone should find out if twc is sitting down with lin tv anytime soon

All I know is this (from the Post Crescent article):

"My sense on (negotiations with Time Warner) is we’ll be having discussions relatively soon," Zollar said.

Doesn't that sound like a rather "they'll come begging now" kind of quote?

The quote paints a beautiful picture of mr zollar sitting on a throne. This throne says fair on one arm and balance on the other. he has a crown on his head that reads king of premium programming. I also see direct and dish waxing his shoes while charter is feeding him grapes. Then i see TWC walking though the door

My vote goes as "yes".

I'm still with TWC on this one. I'm already paying for enough channels that I don't want in order to get the few that I do. If all I wanted was local HD channels, I'd cut my cable. While I feel for the others who can't pick up WLUK HD with an antenna, I still don't want to pay to subsidize them getting what should be a "free" channel. But WLUK's recent deals with other providers really put the pressure on TWC to make a deal of their own happen and I'm betting it will soon.

I was watching "So You Think You Can Dance" on DirecTV in HD last night.... can anyone else confirm this?
