Additional Info
Trivia:
  • Dish Network added Green Bay local channels in HD on April 16, 2008, including WLUK. This is the first HD carriage agreement LIN Television has secured for WLUK HD in the Northeast Wisconsin market.
  • There is an unconfirmed report that WLUK has a deal in place with AT&T for U-Verse, supposedly including their HD signal. The report also suggests that U-Verse is scheduled to launch in Green Bay in July 2007. (January 31, 2007)
  • On November 21, 2006, DirecTV began offering high-definition local channels in the Green Bay market. WLUK was only Green Bay affiliate of the four largest networks not to offer HD service through DirecTV at launch. As of March 2007, negotiations never completed successfully.
  • A spokesperson for WLUK told the Green Bay Press-Gazette in a September 11, 2006 article that the station had put forth an offer to Time Warner Cable, giving them "the opportunity to take our HD signal and pay us no money." As of March 2007, a deal never materialized.
  • GM Jay Zollar confirmed that WLUK's digital transmitter will assume its existing VHF channel 11 in 2009 after its analog NTSC signal is turned off for good. (August 2006)

I called your news center

I called your news center and apparently the interest level is 0 to showing the GOOD our service men do for the humanity of the Iraqi people as they never called back. Corey LaFontaine who goes to Fox Valley and Oshkosh college lives in Oshkosh. His cell phone number is 906-282-3218 and the News article was picked up by the Iron Mountain News. The young boy is Hasan and the contact is Helen Salan, Director of Healing the Children/Michigan Ohio Chapter 2140 44th St. SE Suite 105 Grand Rapids, Mi. 49508 616-281-6973
When I contacted Kagen's office last August, I was blown off, but Corey and the other soldiers from the 46th wouldn't take no for an answer so we kept calling and making contacts until my daughter and Corey's Sargent's mother succeeded finding the above organization. I just wanted to get it in writing that you know about the story. Hasan will be operated on for his serious heart condition at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Congenital Heart Center in Grand Rapids Michigan on May 6th. Sincerely Lee Ann Goodman

Fox Cities TV (formerly Fox Cities HD) is an independent blog and reader-driven community for television lovers in the Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh, Wisconsin area.  We aim to be a place where TV watchers in Northeast Wisconsin can come to learn about what's happening in local (and national) television, interact with other TV viewers and express themselves about TV issues.

The website was created and is managed by Mark David Zahn, an avid Internet, entertainment and electronic enthusiast.  He currently resides in Appleton, WI, where he makes his living in radio and dabbles in computer building, web community building, independent media, high-definition TV and home theater.  Mark can be contacted directly here.
